What is Occupational Therapy (OT)?

Occupational therapy is a holistic profession that helps people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities, also known as "occupations". We use these occupations as both the intervention and the outcome of therapy. Hence the name "occupational therapy". Pediatric occupational therapists provide individualized therapeutic intervention to help kids improve their performance in occupations such as eating, sleeping, self-care, learning, and school performance skills using their primary occupation of PLAY!

Why would my child need OT?

Your child might need OT if he/she is diagnosed with a medical diagnosis resulting in developmental delays or is presenting with difficulties in any of the following areas: fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration and processing, self-care, feeding therapy, balance and coordination, school performance, independence, or emotional and behavioral regulation
