Feeding Therapy

Feeding your child can be one of the most daunting aspects of being a parent. Providing healthy meals for your family with a busy schedule can be overwhelming with a "good" eater. Adding dietary restrictions and/or a limited/avoidant food intake only increases the complexity of feeding your child.

Eating should be enjoyable and fun as well as nourishing. It should be a time when the family comes together, not another source of demands. It should be a time when your child feels cared for and safe, not frustrated.

I have extensive experience and training in providing feeding therapy to expand the diet of a "picky eater" or "problem feeder". I am trained in the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to feeding as well as a variety of behavioral methods. I use a combination of play, sensory, and behavioral methods to tailor each session to the individual child. I believe exposure and interaction through food preparation and cooking as well as opportunities to try new foods in a social environment leads to wider variety in diet.
